I'm the kinda girl who...

I'm the kinda girl who...

...gets emotionally involved with characters in books.

...has a teeny tiny bladder and has to get up anywhere between 2-6 times a night to pee.

...feels empathy.

...has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor that can be taken the wrong way if I'm not careful. I usually forget to be careful.

...holds on to bitterness and hurt from past relationships (romantic or platonic) for way longer than I should.

...doesn't really like dogs.

...can't sleep if I can hear my watch ticking.

...looks forward to putting makeup on every single day.

...hates feet, which is why I never saw Ben's.

...considers myself a realistic idealist. I wish life were perfect but I accept that it's not. Although I've definitely been called a pessimist and a cynic on more than one occasion.

...doesn't have a pair of jeans that fit me right now. Not kidding. None of them fit me.

...likes to drink coffee just because I like the act of sipping. I don't care for the taste, but I drink coffee for the same reason a smoker smokes: it's the act of bringing the cup to my mouth and sipping that takes me to the Keurig day after day after day.

...will just have water if I'm eating at a place that serves Pepsi instead of Coke.

...could easily go an entire day without speaking out loud. Texting, gchat, or e-mail is fine, but I wouldn't mind not having to open my mouth to speak. Cough introvert cough cough.

...loves to be right. All of the time. It's annoying.

  1. The watch ticking, I can't deal with that either! I usually leave mine in the bathroom for that reason alone.

  2. I love getting lost in a good book and connect with the characters. I can't sleep if I hear a clock ticking either - so annoying! And ew...feet! I only drink coffee because I like the creamer I use. So glad you linked up!

  3. Ticking clocks are HORRIBLE. Seriously- I can't focus on anything else if I hear the tick tick. And I'm the same way with Coke vs Pepsi. Pepsi is nasty and I would rather not drink a pop!

  4. Still not sure how we manage to get along despite your dislike for dogs. If you ever meet sir and she doesn't like you, I might not be able to continue this friendship. Sorry.

  5. I still can't get over this dog thing. I feel like I need to bring my dogs to you so you can get over it!

  6. NOW all I can HEAR is a clock somewhere in this room ticking and I can't find it and I may freak out. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

  8. I definitely can't sleep when I hear a clock ticking either!! And I get soooo emotionally involved with characters in books. Not always as intensely with movie characters, but they aren't in my head for as long unless it's a profoundly good movie :)

  10. So much of "who you are" resonates with me. Everything but the dog one is pretty much spot on. Oh, and I do have one pair of pants that fit right now. Just one, though.

  11. I can definitely relate to a lot of these! I always get emotionally involved with all of my books, ha ha. I have a hard time starting a new series after finishing a great one.
I'm that way with eating - I eat just because I like the motion of putting things in my mouth. Wow, that could be taken the wrong way... Ha ha!!

  12. annnnnd this is why we're BFF's.. this is basically a list written about me.
I feel like I should link up.. but my list would be the same haha

  13. I have 3 pairs of pants that fit, but they are all the exact same style, color, etc. If I can hear any repititive noise, I freak out and will start slamming things in an effort to make it stop!

  14. I'm always getting attached to characters in books, which is why I love series. Karin Slaughter and Harlan Coben are two of my favorite authors just because they have the same characters in their novels.

  15. i'm like you - i sometimes am taken the wrong way because i'm so sarcastic and care zero about pretty much anything. people find that offensive and by that, i think they really think it's awesome.

  16. Eek, I have a small bladder too!! Or it could be that I drink like a gallon of water/day so I just pee a lot...either one..ha!

  17. Am I the only one who realized you said you can't sleep if you CAN'T hear your watch ticking. I probably only caught this because I am the SAME way, and it makes everyone who knows me/sleeps in a hotel room with me cray cray. That tick, tick, tick, is as soothing as being rocked as a baby. I gotchuuuu girl! <3 xoxo

  18. I love a good dry sense of humor (obviously). I mean, most people don't get it, but it kind of just sucks to be them.

  19. I can not fall asleep if a watch is ticking either! Also my jeans and I are in a fight too. Sweat pants are all that fits me right now. JK but I would love ot wear sweat pants everyday.

  20. Ugh the book character attachments. Love/Hate relationship with them. I didn't realize until just now, but there's a clock directly outside my office door THANKS FOR NOTHING. I hate it when you're lying inbed and you can hear your own heartbeat. Also, as much as I love water, it makes me pee all. day. long. And I only really like to be right when I'm debating with Kris. Haha what a healthy relationship.

  23. I don't blame you for the Pepsi thing. Pepsi has such a weird taste. I'd rather drink store brand "cola" than take a sip of Pepsi.

  24. I'm always so ashamed to admit I've never really liked dogs. At least not ones that I've had or met!

    ReplyDelete
  25. emotionally attached to book characters- yes. sometimes I feel their pain so much that I physically ache for them/with them, whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  26. but you actually like dogs, right?

    ReplyDelete
  27. we might be potential best friends.

  28. "...gets emotionally involved with characters in books." I don't trust anyone who doesn't, really. Especially people who still consider themselves avid readers. WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF IT IF YOU'RE NOT FEELING EVERYTHING RIGHT ALONG WITH THE STORY???

  29. pretty much every single thing you listed is something i do too! although, i do kind of have the ability to let go of past hurt and bitterness from relationships (most of the time), and i do like the taste of coffee (as long as it's not black). So those are like basically the only two differences, and other than that, we are basically the same person, and thus, are like, de facto BFFs. which works out nicely, since we only live a few hours apart from each other now so we could totally get together sometime if we felt so inclined, and plus, i think you're fab, so there you have it. :)

  30. I too ma sarcastic and pray that people get that. I also hold a bit of a grudge. Hoping to learn to let go off that. Easier said than done though. Found you through the link up...glad I did!

  31. this post is amazing!!!!! you ticked so many of my own (especially the not being super keen on dogs and having no jeans that fit right now!

  32. Hate to admit this, but I have a bit of a foot fetish ;)

  33. I can relate to just about every single one of these. ESPECIALLY getting emotionally attached to characters and being perfectly content not talking. Bliss.
