So many things you didn't know

When I woke up I was convinced today was Friday and when I realized the truth, that it's only Thursday, I got really sad. And then I got sadder because I want a bagel but I don't have one. But then I remembered that I have a three day weekend (do you???) and that made life a little better. And then I realized that I had exhausted so much brain energy on remembering the days of the week that I didn't have enough juice in my brain to write more than random sentences. So that's what you're going to get. Random. Random stuff about me because duh.

//I loathe the dentist. Who doesn't? When I was younger I went to a dentist who didn't use gloves, and when he was torturing my teeth and gums I could feel his moist hands on my lips and I will never forget that feeling or forgive him for traumatizing me that way. Also they always yell at me for not flossing, even though I totally do floss (the morning of my appointment and sporadically throughout the year).

//I'm a little paranoid of sleeping through my alarm in the morning, so I set seven alarms at random intervals. 5:26, 5:30, 5:36, 5:53, 5:59, 6:10, 6:27. I usually end up waking up at 5 and turning off all the alarms but the 6:10 and 6:27 ones. Then I have to rush to get ready for work and I'm always on time if on time means between 3 and 7 minutes late. I'll never learn.

//I HATE PLAIN MILK. Growing up my parents used to make us drink a glass of milk with our dinner before we could have anything else and it was complete torture and I of course made a huge deal out of it and plugged my nose and acted like it was acid going down my throat. I was a lovely child.

//I'm painfully sarcastic and one time a girl told me, "If I didn't know you were joking I'd think you were the biggest b***h I'd ever met. So that's fun.

//I hate making left turns when I'm driving. I especially hate left turn arrows... they take forever and I feel like they're really bossy. JUST LET ME TURN LEFT WHEN I THINK IT'S SAFE TO TURN LEFT.

//I'm having this weird issue on my face. I don't know why but I have these red rashes under my eyes and they don't itch but they sting a little if my face wash/moisturizer/anything else touches them. I haven't started using any new products and it's not a sunburn. Faith told me I need to drink more water but can being dehydrated really give you rashes under your eyes?? I look like I've been punched. Help? I also have a rash on my wrist from my Target watch but that's not related to my face.

That's all for today and maybe the rest of this week, who knows?

  1. I set my alarm but for some reason I always think it's a gun going off in my dreams and end up picking up my phone/gun and throw it across the room, where it get buried in clothes and i can't hear it going off anymore. Then I sleep through my morning. It's a vicious cycle.

  2. OMG finally someone understands the terror and anxiety left hand turns give me.

  3. I have 5 alarms to wake me up in the morning. Between 3 - 5 mins apart. I am sarcastic as anything, it keeps me young... and it lets me get away with a lot at work so I still have my job. And jeez girlie what happened!? I've been dehydrated before and have never had red patches under my eyes... if you haven't used anything new recently I'd see what you can stop using that maybe newly irritated it.

  4. I am one of those annoying people that pops out of bed in the morning, but I am not a morning person and I can't have a conversation before my coffee. Milk is just gross. Hope you get the rashes figured out, I haven't seen that before so I am no help at all!

  5. I had the same thing happen to my eyes a while back! I thought i was dying. I went to the doctor (it was a big deal. i hate drs.) and she gave me some creme stuff to use. It cleared it up in just a couple of days. Every once in a while, usually if I've been lazy and not taken my eye makeup off at night, the rash will come back. But it will go away without using anything. I don't know what it is, or how to get rid of it except for the time the creme worked. So basically I just rambled through without giving you any help. Sorry about that. Gosh, I'm turning into you.

  6. Have you been using some under eye cream? I would put hydro-cortisone under your eyes at night to see if that will help, That area has super thin skin, so you need to be careful. I would also avoid putting makeup there and keep it very moisturized. Wow, sorry for sounding like a doctor/mom. I am neither of those things; just a product/skin junkie.

    Ugh.

    Good luck!

  7. I've never liked milk, and my parents always made my sister and I do the same thing. We HAD to have a glass of milk with dinner. And I hated it!

  8. So many of these are true for myself! I especially HATE the dentist!

  9. you are reacting to something - likely a product you currently use. check your current product expiry date and if all is good, start the process of elimination...stop using one product for a week and see if it clears up. keep note so that you can figure out which one (that you didn't use) cleared up your skin.

this happened to me too but it was those red rashes all over my face. turned out i became allergic to the ingredients in my face products so i ditched them all and switched to natural ones. haven't had a problem since and my skin is actually even BETTER than before.

    good luck!

  10. I forgot about the three day weekend until, like, Tuesday, and then I was super excited! Also, on the sarcasm thing, I feel you, except mine is more dry humor. If people don't "get" me, then I come across as aloof and weird. And then I turn red explaining myself. I make a great first impression in person, let me tell you!

  11. OMG your dentist experience sounds gross! That would make me hate the dentist!

Drinking more water is probably a good idea! My skin hates me so I've got a lot of experience with random rashes, including some right around my eyes. I'd be careful using steroid creams like hydrocortisone around your eyes since those thin the skin and the skin there is already so thin. My doctors have recommend fragrance free and alcohol free moisturizers for when I have problems. After I had rashes around my eyes I switched to Burt's Bees Radiance face lotion. Now I'm use a target brand oil free, fragrance free face lotion. If it's just dry I'd also think about maybe using straight up petroleum jelly on the area at night after washing your face to lock in moisture. OMG I could write a novel and about dry sensitive skin.

  12. I think dentists are just plain weird! I mean, who would want to do that for a living?

  13. I had a roommate in college who used to, no exaggeration, set 15 alarms every morning. I am a light sleeper- so I used to always wake up on her first one. She would, however, just reach over, slap the snooze, and go back to sleep. If she had a 10am class, her alarm would start going off at 530am. I still have PTSD-like reactions whenever I hear her particular alarm sound as someone's phone ringer. THE STRUGGLE.

  14. your eye thing looks totally like an allergy. it could even be from something not in your skin products, but in the air or something else you touched that got wiped into your eyes! i take a natural supplement when my allergies flare, but you could also try benadryl. eucerin (the thick lotion) tends to work really well when i get contact dermatitis/rashes. hope it clears up soon!

    xo.

  15. I set a ridiculous amount of alarms because I am a paranoid freak who is afraid to over sleep. I also check to make sure they alarms are "on" about 8 times before I go to bed.

The eye rash looks like an allergic reaction for sure. Have you washed your make up brushes? Something could have gotten on one that is irritating your skin, the under eye area is the most sensitive and thinnest on our face so it is the first to get irritated.

  16. Ture story: As my skin ages, the more sensitive it gets. I know Im quite a few years older then you, but you could be experiencing the same phenomenon. Products that were always fine to use on my skin, now make me break out in rashes. I had to switch to sensitive skin soap just to wash my face. I like the suggestion to wash your makeup brushes, I swear no one does that enough!
    Love you!

  17. I had the same eye situation happen for like an entire month on and off...i think it has to do with my contact solution mixing with somewhat dry skin?? who knows! it sucked/hurt.

  18. I don't know about your rash, maybe try some hydrocortisone cream and also eliminate some things from your face routine or makeup.

Some days I set multiple alarms and some days I'm up on the first one ready to go... and I never know what kind of morning it will be the night before, I always surprise myself.

  19. I get those same exact rashes under my eyes, SO PAINFUL. Go to the dermatologist, they will give you some ointment, I think it's called Protopic, to make it go away.

  20. it doesn't matter how many alarms i set for myself in the morning because i NEVER wake up to them. i, too, am chronically running 3-7 minutes late for work as well!

  21. hahaha I love the randoms EXCEPT the first. hahahaahahah okay that dentist is GROSS like legit what the hell no gloves?!?! I'm a dental hygienist soooo haha BUT I've been told I have the hands of an angel (or something) and I rarely hurt patients... haha really though (:
THE ALARMS! I am the same. It doesn't matter how many alarms I set, I always alway snooze until the last minute. I even got a sleep cycle app (Hi, I'm a grandma) annnnd even though it works, I cheat it and still snooze.

  22. I'm cringing just thinking about the dentist!!!! And the thought of plain milk makes my stomach turn...!

  23. I was traumatized by the dentist too. Theyre evil!

  24. Haha totally guilty of the alarm thing. I am such a paranoid person

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yep, we're basically the same person.

  26. Milk is THE WORST! I would pinch my nose too, but that never helped. I also have a problem with the snooze button, and am perpetually late because I just can't wake up the first time my alarm goes off.

  27. I HATE dentists . I only go once a year if only my mom is dragging me there . Unless , NO!
    I can't drink plain milk .

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh, I hate plain milk (and every single other kind) too! My parent never made me drink it but I hated going to my friends house when they just assumed everyone loved it! Ahhh, I just want to gag thinking about it!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ok, I'm obviously a freak of nature because 1. I love going to the dentist! and 2. I don't use an alarm clock! I used to set an alarm, but would always wake up before it went off so now I don't set one at all. Word.
